Champlain Valley Weather Discussion:

OVERVIEW
An intense low pressure system over the open waters of the Atlantic Ocean will move North, and then retrograde back west over Northern Maine, and into Quebec tomorrow, resulting in the potential for a significant upslope snow event.

SNOWFALL
Light snow showers from a previous system are occuring right now across the region, and this will be likely until later tomorrow morning, when some steadier light snow should develop across the Northern half of Vermont, and Northern portions of New York. By late Monday afternoon and into Monday evening snow should become moderate at times, especially in the upslope region of the Northern Green mountains, and the Northern Adirondack mountains. Occasional heavy burst of snow are possible as well.

I do want to urge that many models are having a difficult time with this system and show the heaviest snow will be just north of Vermont, and New York. Hi-res models though pick up on the upslope enhancement, showing a decent snowfall for the upslope regions. At this time I want everyone to know the track of this storm is key to how much snow we get. If the storm tracks slightly further north, then only light snow totals are possible. If the storm moves further south, then significantly more snow is possible. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing weather situation.
