Champlain Valley Weather Discussion:
Currently across the entire region, snow, moderate to occasionally heavy is falling. I have not been able to get any reports on accumulations, so I am not sure whats going on up in the western slopes of the green mountains, but here in the Valley, here in Swanton, we have up to a half inch as of this time. Snow will continue but lighten up this evening, occasionally mixing with sleet, or freezing rain, in the Champlain Valley, snow mixing with sleet, or plain rain could occur. Total snow accumulations look to be 1-3 inches in the Champlain Valley with 2-5 inches in the higher elevations, including the western slopes of the green mountains. Travel has already become adversely effected. Roads will continue to become snow covered, and remain icy, even though temperatures in some areas are above freezing. If you are out on the roads this evening use caution while traveling.
