Champlain Valley Weather Discussion:
The National Weather Service in Burlington, VT has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Southeastern Clinton County New York, Extreme Southern Grandisle, Southwestern Franklin, Northern Chittenden, and Extreme Northwestern Lamoille Counties in Vermont. Quarter sized hail has already been reported. This storm and other storms this afternoon will also have the potential to produce very heavy rainfall, and frequent lightning. An observer in Colchester, Vermont reported pea size hail, very heavy rainfall, and frequent lightning occurring with this storm, this is just south of the strongest core of this storm. It is recommended to stay inside until the storm has passed.
I have also expanded the Severe Thunderstorm Watch to include the entire Champlain Valley Weather Coverage area. Clouds have cleared out allowing the atmosphere to become very unstable in most areas. Stay tuned for further updates!
