Welcome To Champlain Valley Weather!

Hello, and Welcome to the all new "Champlain Valley Weather" Weather For You! As some of you may have known, I owned the former JRWeather blog. I decided to make some changes, make things look more professional, and give it a more geographical name. This article, will introduce you to some of the new changes, maps, forecasts, ideas, and future plans. The first official "Champlain Valley Weather" Forecasts will be issued Friday, April, 17th 2009. Now lets talk about change...

First and foremost, the biggest change will be forecasts. I have decided unlike with my old JRWeather blog to issue forecasts daily, or every other day, depending on the circumstances. This will hopefully enhance the traffic on the site, since I won't be talking about bad weather only. My forecasts will be for a 7 day period, and include high and low temperatures, wind speeds, and chances of precipitation. When you view the 7 day forecast grids, some may wonder why I am trying to pinpoint an exact temperature. That's because I am averaging the temperature for which ever region it states on that forecast grid (i.e. Champlain Valley or Green Mountains).

The next change will be the appearance, its not quite as colorful as JRWeather was, but that's because I want a basic style, something that everyone will like. More than likely you will notice changes, especially throughout the next several weeks, as I tweak the site to look better, and better suit my viewers. I would also love opinions on what you the viewers would like "Champlain Valley Weather" to look like, or to do with the overall site. I want this site to be for my viewers! That's why my motto is "Weather For You!" (Now that doesn't mean I can change the actually weather at request.)

As far as maps go, I have kept pretty much the same layout as far as the view goes. The only change is I blacked out the counties I no longer cover. Instead of outlining the counties I cover, I have just blacked out the Vermont counties I no longer cover, that way you can still see the outline of the State of Vermont, for a point of reference. I did however cut two of the New York Counties off, but blacked out the Western portions of Clinton, and Essex Counties, as I do not cover the western portions of those counties.

My future plans for "Champlain Valley Weather" is to eventually get a real website on the air. This will likely take quite some time, but that is my goal. Once again, I want to do this for my viewers, as it will be easier for you to view, and navigate through a website rather then a blogsite. Once again if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please feel free to leave it under the comment section, or you can e-mail me at vtweather@gmail.com.

Thanks for stopping in and checking out "Champlain Valley Weather", make sure to stop in frequently and check out the new changes and don't forget, your forecasts begin April 17th 2009!!

Sincerely,
Josh Ramsdell
